Statement from MPP Lisa Thompson Regarding Resignation of Patrick Brown as Leader of the PC Party
January 25, 2018

The following is a statement from Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson regarding the allegations against Patrick Brown and his resignation as Leader of the PC Party:

“I want to be unequivocally clear that no one should ever have to tolerate or fear harassment of any sort. My Caucus colleagues and I firmly believe in the principles of a safe and respectful society for all.

“While due legal process must be respected and followed with regards to the allegations raised against Mr. Brown yesterday evening, my colleagues and I have addressed this situation swiftly and decisively. We agreed that he cannot lead us into the upcoming election, and have accepted his resignation.

“The PC Caucus and slate of candidates comprise a strong, united team committed to providing Ontarians with a clear choice in the upcoming election after 14 years of bad Liberal policy decisions that have negatively impacted Ontarians throughout this province.”
